Who We Are
Welcome to LAC Counseling Inc: Where Love, Acceptance, and Confidence Lead the Way
At LAC Counseling Inc., we believe in the transformative power of Love, Acceptance, and Confidence. Founded by Miranda Dinkins, LCSW, our mission is to create a path to peace and mental well-being through the foundational principles of self-love, self-acceptance, and inner confidence. With a focus on providing safe spaces and compassionate support, we offer a range of online individual therapy services, mental health workshops, and trainings designed to empower individuals to live their most authentic and fulfilling lives.
Our Approach to Therapy
At LAC Counseling Inc., we believe in meeting clients where they are and guiding them on a journey of self-discovery and healing. With an integrative and fluid approach to therapy, Miranda and her team create safe and nurturing environments where teens and women of color can explore their emotions, develop self-understanding, and learn healthy coping mechanisms. We believe in the power of laughter and connection, even in the midst of the hard work of therapy.
Why Choose LAC Counseling Inc.?
Culturally Competent Care: As a therapist who understands the intersectionality of race, culture, and identity, Miranda and her team provide culturally competent care that honors each individual's unique experiences and perspectives.
Safe and Supportive Environment: In our therapy sessions, workshops, and trainings, you'll find a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where you can express yourself freely and authentically.
For Women, Provided by Women: We understand the importance of representation and connection in the therapeutic process. That's why our services are designed by women, for women, ensuring that you feel seen, heard, and understood every step of the way.
Our Founder’s Vision
Miranda Dinkins, LCSW, knows firsthand the challenges of navigating life as a black, Christian, artsy, valley-girl accented teenager in Southern California. Faced with a lack of understanding and acceptance, Miranda learned to mask her true self and hide her struggles behind a smile. But college became her escape, a journey of self-discovery and transformation that ultimately led her to create the spaces she needed as a teen and young adult—a place where it's okay to be vulnerable, to express emotions, and to seek support without judgment.
Words from Miranda Dinkins, LCSW
"Having completed my educational journey at the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, I've had the privilege of supporting clients in a variety of settings, from inpatient substance abuse treatment centers to local high schools. Each experience has deepened my understanding of the human experience and reaffirmed my commitment to this work. I am humbled and honored to walk alongside my clients on their journey to healing and self-discovery."
